Aggreko Files for U.S. IPO as AI Data Centers Drive Power Demand
Aggreko filed for a U.S. IPO under ticker AGKO as AI data centers drive rapid growth in temporary and bridge-power demand.
Why it matters: Aggreko offers public-market exposure to the temporary and bridge-power bottleneck created by rapid AI data-center construction.
Temporary-power provider Aggreko has filed to return to public markets in the United States as artificial-intelligence data centers create surging demand for electricity infrastructure.
The Glasgow-based company plans to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker AGKO. It has not yet disclosed the number of shares it intends to sell or the expected IPO price range.
Aggreko reported $1.92 billion of revenue during the first half of 2026, up 28% from a year earlier, while posting an $80 million profit after recording a $196 million loss in the comparable period.
Its data-center business is becoming increasingly important. Revenue from the sector nearly doubled to $391 million for the year ended January 3.
The filing illustrates how the AI infrastructure boom is expanding beyond chips and servers. Power providers capable of supplying electricity while utilities build permanent grid connections are becoming part of the AI supply chain itself.
