RUM Group Lands $13.7 Billion GPU Contract but Needs New Capital to Build It

RUM Group filing · 2026-09-03

RUM Group signed a six-year GPU-services agreement worth about $13.7 billion with an unnamed U.S. cloud customer for its Maysville, Georgia site, while disclosing that it still needs additional capital to fulfill the deal.

Why it matters: The $13.7 billion contract shows both the scale of AI-compute demand and the financing risk facing infrastructure providers that must fund capacity before they can deliver contracted services.

RUM Group has signed a six-year agreement worth approximately $13.7 billion to provide GPU computing services to an unnamed U.S.-based cloud customer, creating one of the largest contracts yet disclosed by a newer AI infrastructure provider. The customer will purchase GPU services from RUM Group’s Maysville, Georgia data-center site in three tranches, with the third tranche contingent on approval of the proposed delivery date. RUM is also granting the customer a warrant to purchase as many as 50.8 million Class A shares at an exercise price of one cent per share, with vesting tied to purchases under the agreement. The size of the agreement introduces a significant financing challenge: RUM Group says it does not currently have the capital required to fulfill the contract and expects to raise debt or equity to fund the necessary infrastructure. The deal highlights a central risk across the neocloud sector: signing enormous multiyear capacity agreements is only the first step; providers still have to finance the GPUs, electrical infrastructure and data centers required to deliver them.
