Cisco AI Orders Hit $9.3 Billion as 2027 Revenue Forecast Beats Wall Street

Reuters · 2026-08-12

Cisco booked $4 billion of AI-infrastructure orders in fiscal Q4, bringing fiscal-2026 hyperscaler AI orders to $9.3 billion while guiding fiscal-2027 revenue above consensus.

Why it matters: Cisco's $9.3 billion hyperscaler AI order total shows AI capex spreading beyond accelerators into networking and data-center fabrics.

Cisco Systems is becoming one of the clearest beneficiaries of artificial-intelligence infrastructure spending outside the semiconductor sector. The networking giant said AI-infrastructure orders from hyperscale customers reached $4 billion in its fiscal fourth quarter, taking full-year AI orders to approximately $9.3 billion. Cisco had previously increased its fiscal-2026 target to $9 billion, making the final result slightly stronger than its already-raised expectations. Fourth-quarter revenue reached $17.25 billion, ahead of Wall Street expectations. Cisco also forecast fiscal-2027 revenue of between $72.2 billion and $73.4 billion, substantially above the roughly $68.7 billion analysts had expected. The results highlight an important second phase of the AI infrastructure buildout. Deploying enormous clusters of accelerators requires far more than GPUs: hyperscalers also need high-capacity switches, Ethernet fabrics, security systems and increasingly sophisticated networking capable of moving data among thousands of processors. Cisco's $9.3 billion order total should not be confused with recognized revenue, but it provides a significant forward indicator that AI capital spending continues spreading through the broader data-center supply chain.
