AI Server Boom Pushes Foxconn Cloud Business Above Half of Revenue as Nvidia Vera Rubin Ramp Nears

Reuters · 2026-08-12

Foxconn reported a 35% rise in second-quarter profit as cloud and networking products, including AI servers, reached 51% of quarterly revenue for the first time, while the manufacturer prepared Nvidia Vera Rubin server racks for fourth-quarter shipments.

Why it matters: Foxconn deriving more than half of quarterly revenue from cloud and networking products shows how AI infrastructure is structurally reshaping one of the world’s most important electronics manufacturers and the physical supply chain behind AI computing.

Foxconn’s artificial-intelligence infrastructure business has crossed an important threshold as demand for AI servers increasingly reshapes the world’s largest electronics contract manufacturer. The company reported second-quarter net profit of NT$59.97 billion, about $1.86 billion, up 35% from a year earlier and ahead of analyst expectations. Its cloud and networking products division, which includes AI servers, generated 51% of quarterly revenue, exceeding half of company sales for the first time.\n\nThat shift puts AI infrastructure ahead of the consumer-electronics business historically associated with Foxconn. Smart consumer electronics, including devices such as Apple’s iPhone, represented 29% of second-quarter revenue. Foxconn is preparing for mass production of Nvidia’s next-generation Vera Rubin server racks, with shipments expected to begin in the fourth quarter, while increasing capital expenditure and expanding manufacturing capacity internationally.\n\nThe numbers illustrate how the AI investment cycle is changing the electronics supply chain itself. Demand is spreading beyond Nvidia’s GPUs into server racks, cooling, networking, power systems, printed circuit boards and the manufacturing capacity required to assemble entire AI factories. Foxconn’s revenue mix suggests that AI infrastructure has already become a larger part of its business than the consumer devices on which its global reputation was built.
