Archer Aviation is acquiring three Boeing businesses in a transaction that expands the electric-aircraft company into autonomous flight, defense drones and airspace software. Archer will acquire Wisk Aero, Insitu and SkyGrid, while Boeing will receive shares representing 19.75% of Archer's outstanding Class A stock before closing and gain the right to appoint a director. Insitu adds an established defense-drone business with more than $200 million in annual revenue, while Wisk contributes autonomous-flight technology.
