Cloudflare has launched Kitesurf, a browser engine designed for artificial-intelligence agents rather than human users. The browser runs on Cloudflare Workers and targets autonomous browsing, extraction and screenshot workloads without the overhead of a conventional Chromium instance. Cloudflare says its internal benchmark showed substantially lower CPU and memory use, though Chromium remained faster on measured tasks. The launch points to an emerging machine-to-machine browser infrastructure layer for AI agents, with different economics and security requirements from browsers designed for people.
