Nvidia Adds $562 Billion in Biggest Weekly Surge in More Than a Year
Nvidia shares rose about 11.6% for the week, adding roughly $562 billion in market capitalization as SpaceX endorsed the upcoming Vera Rubin architecture and hyperscalers continued raising AI infrastructure spending.
Why it matters: The scale of the weekly market-cap gain shows how tightly Nvidia's valuation is linked to the global AI infrastructure cycle and the spending plans of a small number of very large customers.
Nvidia added roughly $562 billion in market value during its strongest weekly percentage gain in more than a year, according to MarketWatch. The shares rose about 11.6% for the week as investors responded to continued hyperscaler spending and another major endorsement of Nvidia's next-generation AI architecture.
SpaceX said its future computing infrastructure will rely on Nvidia's upcoming Vera Rubin platform, reinforcing the chipmaker's position as the default supplier for many of the world's largest AI buildouts. At the same time, Google, Amazon and Meta have continued to raise or sustain large capital-expenditure programs tied to data centers and AI infrastructure.
The rally illustrates how the market is increasingly focused not on whether AI infrastructure spending will continue, but on which suppliers capture the largest share. Nvidia remains the benchmark for the GPU trade, although elevated expectations mean upcoming earnings, supply constraints and customer concentration will remain closely watched.
