Siemens Posts Record Industrial Profit as AI Data-Center Orders Surge

Siemens reported its highest quarterly industrial profit as AI data-center, semiconductor and automated-factory demand increased orders for its industrial technology and infrastructure systems.

Industrial Business profit rose 25% to €3.52 billion during the quarter ended in June. Revenue increased 7% to €20.79 billion, while orders rose 13% to a record €27.9 billion.

Siemens is becoming an important supplier to the physical infrastructure behind AI.

The company provides electrical systems, building controls, factory-automation technology and industrial software used to construct and operate data centers and semiconductor plants. It now works with nine of the ten largest data-center providers.

Orders associated with data centers increased by a triple-digit percentage during the first nine months of Siemens’ fiscal year. Demand was also strong from electronics and chip manufacturers expanding production capacity for AI-related systems.

Siemens raised its full-year earnings-per-share forecast to between €11.20 and €11.50.

The results reinforce a broader infrastructure trend. AI investment is no longer benefiting only processor and memory suppliers. It is also increasing demand for power distribution, cooling, automation, digital twins and building-management systems.

Siemens shares nevertheless declined after the report, indicating that investors had already priced in substantial growth.

The company’s record quarter shows that industrial technology is becoming a major secondary beneficiary of the global AI capital-spending cycle.
