Microsoft Azure will remain ArcelorMittal's primary cloud platform. The company also plans to adopt Microsoft Fabric for data and analytics, Microsoft Purview for governance and Microsoft Foundry for AI applications.
The announcement follows a separate collaboration with Amazon Web Services focused on industrial automation and factory-edge AI, including IoT, sensor data, predictive maintenance, computer-vision quality control and digital twins.
Together, the agreements illustrate a practical enterprise multicloud strategy. Microsoft supports central enterprise cloud, data governance and cybersecurity, while AWS supports selected industrial, operational-technology and edge-computing workloads.
That model may be more realistic for large manufacturers than selecting one provider for every system.
