Coursera is investing $100 million in LearnVector, a new AI-education company founded by Andrew Ng that plans to build personalized training for white-collar workers, enterprises, governments and universities.

Why it matters: AI adoption is creating a large enterprise reskilling market, and personalized instruction could become an important distribution layer for workplace software and credentials.

AI educator and entrepreneur Andrew Ng has launched LearnVector, a new company focused on helping white-collar workers develop skills needed as artificial intelligence automates more professional tasks.

Coursera is investing $100 million and will own approximately one-third of the startup. That ownership implies a valuation of roughly $300 million, although LearnVector has not disclosed the size or terms of any other investment.

LearnVector plans to use foundation models from multiple providers to create personalized courses that adjust as each learner develops. Its AI tutors are intended to monitor progress, identify knowledge gaps and increase course difficulty as users become more proficient.

The company expects to sell its products to corporations, governments, universities and individual professionals. Its first courses are expected to become available in early 2027. Pricing, the user interface and the initial course catalog are still under development.

Coursera and LearnVector plan to collaborate on course development and distribution, giving the startup access to Coursera's customer base and education ecosystem.

The investment is a significant bet that workplace disruption from AI will create a parallel market for continuous, personalized retraining. Employer adoption and measurable career outcomes will be the next major tests.
