OpenAI Introduces Presence for Enterprise Voice and Chat Agents
OpenAI has introduced Presence, an enterprise deployment product designed to help organizations operate voice and chat agents that can answer questions, use company systems, take approved actions and escalate to people.
Why it matters: Enterprise buyers increasingly need agent reliability, controls and deployment support rather than another standalone model endpoint.
OpenAI has introduced Presence, a deployed enterprise product for organizations moving AI agents from demonstrations into customer and internal production workflows.
Presence is designed for voice and chat agents that can answer questions, resolve issues, use company systems, take approved actions and escalate to people. The product includes evaluation and controlled-rollout tooling intended to help teams update agent behavior as policies, products and user behavior change.
OpenAI says deployments are led by its Forward Deployed Engineers and selected global systems integrators. The product is available through a limited general-availability program rather than as a self-service offering.
The launch reflects a shift in enterprise AI competition from access to a capable model toward the operational layer around that model: monitoring, evaluation, integration, permissions and change management.
